On September 3, 1995, Alltel Stadium played host to its first National Football League game, which was won by the Jacksonville Jaguars 10-3 over the Houston Oilers.
EverBank Field was chosen as the new name for the stadium in 2007 when the naming rights to the stadium were acquired by the financial services company EverBank.
